SORBA donates 10 bicycles for the "Big Give"

As president of our chapter, I gotta admit this is one of the cool things I get to do. I'm heading over to The Torch Worship Center sometime today to donate 10 bicycles from Habersham Bicycles for the "Big Give" event that the church is currently heading up. We're donating mostly Giants with a few Haros in there. Donate bikes of this caliber wouldn't have been possible without the help of Joe Elam donating a huge discount to help these kids, so kudos to him. I'll post pictures of the delivery as soon as I get a chance later today. Check my personal (Dustin Mealor) facebook for pictures. I will also be attempting to do a newsletter through the actual IMBA site with the pictures included.

Thanksgiving Ride!

We had our annual Thanksgiving ride this morning.  Although the attendance this year was a bit thin, we still had a blast.  The video isn't great, but it was my first with the new camera.

UC3 Christmas Party!

I just got off the phone with Chad Hayes, and we are set up to have our annual Christmas party at the Hayes Family dealership over off of BC Grant Road.  The party will be December 10th (Friday) and will be a potluck.  Please email me at ucccsorba@gmail.com if you will be bringing a dish so I can let people know what we need.  The party will be from 6:00pm till about 8:00pm.  THANKS!

10/26 Meeting

As of right now, we will still have a meeting tomorrow night.  If the rain continues overnight and stops tomorrow morning, I will try and get to the trail after lunch to check it out, but we will probably not ride regardless, unless it clears up tomorrow morning and is sunny all day.

Meeting Tonight (10/12)

Come down to Nancytown at 6PM and ride, then we'll hit the Campo (El Campesino) for some food and fellowship (a meeting will be in there somewhere).  Call your spouse if you want on the way and they can fellowship as well!

Tuesday Night Rides

Tuesday night rides are upon us!  Come out on Tuesdays at 6:00pm (leave lot promptly at 6:15pm for ride) for our fall group rides.  We will meet at the Nancytown parking lot.  Make sure to bring a light in case we don't get back in time.  Rides will normally be between 1-2 hours, but never longer (usually 1-1.5 hours).  Please contact me through email if you have any questions.

Trail Status

Lady Slipper: Closed
Frady Branch: Closed

Please note the new "Trail Status" section on the right.  It will now be used to determine if our trails are open.  The easiest way to know if they are open without this site is to watch rainfall.  If we have two heavy days like we just did, the trail will be closed to allow for drainage so no damage is done to the wet trails.  If there's a light rain that doesn't amount to much, the trails will still be open, and there is no need to worry.  Sorry for the Tuesday night guys, but please respect the wet trails tonight, as well as the hard work that was put in on Saturday to maintain those trails.  Trail status will be updated later if the trails are believed to be dry enough.

Trail Work Day!

Thanks to all who participated in the trail work day on Saturday morning. We all worked very hard for 3+ hours and got a lot accomplished. For those who didn't attend, please head out to the Sourwood trails and let us know what you think! We got as much as we could done, and for there to have only been six of us, we accomplished so much! See pictures below for our main project, which was the broken bridge on the long side of Sourwood.
